Rainbow Rock Covers: Amplifying the Voices and Fights of Our Community through Advocacy and Action

The Federal Front: The Trump Administration’s Directives

We are fighting because the current administration has initiated a systemic erasure of LGBTQIA+ identity from federal recognition. Through early 2025 and 2026 executive actions, the administration has moved to redefine “sex” as an immutable biological binary, effectively stripping away Title IX protections for transgender students and rescinding non-discrimination mandates in healthcare and housing. By targeting federal funding for “gender ideology” and seeking to ban gender-affirming care through Medicare and Medicaid regulations, the administration isn’t just debating policy—it’s attempting to deconstruct the legal existence of queer and trans people.

The Ohio Front: HB 249 and Statehouse Hostility

In our own backyard, the Ohio House of Representatives recently passed House Bill 249, the so-called “Indecent Exposure Modernization Act.” As independent media producers, we see this for what it is: a coordinated strike against queer visibility. The bill creates a new offense of “unlawful adult cabaret performance” that specifically targets anyone expressing a gender identity different from their sex assigned at birth. By using vague language that could criminalize drag or even trans individuals simply existing in public spaces where minors might be present, the Ohio House is attempting to force our community back into the shadows under the threat of first-degree misdemeanors and felonies.

The Statewide Surge: A National Pattern

This isn’t an isolated incident; it’s a statewide and national contagion. Across the country, we are tracking over 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills in 2026 alone. From Arizona to Florida, statehouses are pushing “forced outing” policies in schools, bans on gender-neutral facilities, and the total removal of LGBTQIA+ history from curricula. In Ohio, while Democrats have introduced the “PRIDE Act” to codify marriage equality and protect youth rights, these measures face an uphill battle against a supermajority intent on defunding homeless shelters that support trans youth and banning “gender-bending” in the arts.

The Creator’s Role: Why We Fight

As digital media producers and journalists, we fight because visibility is a survival strategy. When the government attempts to define us out of existence or criminalize our performances, our content becomes our most potent resistance. Rainbow Rocks exists to document these legislative assaults in real-time, providing the community with the tools to organize, testify, and fight back. We are not just making “content”; we are producing the evidence of our lives and the archives of a movement that refuses to be silenced by the Ohio House or the Oval Office.

Digital Media Architect & LGBTQIA+ Rights Advocate

Kyle Williams is a veteran digital producer and the driving force behind Rainbow Rocks, an independent platform dedicated to advancing LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility. With over a decade of media ownership and production experience, Kyle’s work is rooted in the belief that the community’s narrative belongs in its own hands.

His career in media ownership began in May 2015 with a high-profile launch party featuring Red Sun Rising, marking the start of a premier music magazine he owned and operated for ten years. Under his leadership, the publication saw significant engagement, hitting a peak of 1 million views between 2023 and 2024. Following a period of internal challenge where staff values diverged from the mission of the LGBTQIA+ community, Kyle made the executive decision to dissolve the brand in late 2025. He has now pivoted that decade of audience-building expertise toward Rainbow Rocks—a platform built on uncompromised advocacy and integrity.

Production & Technical Prowess

A self-taught specialist in the Adobe Creative Suite, Kyle manages the entire lifecycle of digital production, ensuring every piece of content meets professional standards while maintaining a sharp focus on queer rights:

  • Cinematic Video Editing: Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro for producing high-impact interviews, field reporting, and documentary-style digital content.

  • Visual Direction: Expert photo editing and digital processing in Adobe Lightroom, crafting a cohesive and professional aesthetic for modern digital platforms.

  • Editorial Leadership: A seasoned journalist and content creator, Kyle produces essential reporting and articles that tackle the most pressing issues facing the LGBTQIA+ community today.

  • Strategic Audience Growth: Proven expertise in platform development, with a documented track record of scaling a brand from its inception to a million annual impressions.

“I’m applying a decade of media experience and million-view momentum to a higher purpose: ensuring our community’s stories are told with the technical excellence and authenticity they deserve.”

As a platform built on the foundation of advocacy, Rainbow Rocks operates under a strict set of values designed to protect the integrity of our stories and the safety of our community. When you engage with our content, you are engaging with a commitment to the following principles:

Editorial Integrity & Ethical Reporting

In an era of misinformation, I believe that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves journalism that is as accurate as it is passionate. My commitment to editorial integrity means:

  • Factual Accuracy: Every article and video is rooted in thorough research and direct sourcing.

  • Independence: As an independent creator, my reporting is never influenced by outside interests that conflict with the rights of our community.

  • Accountability: We prioritize the truth over “the scoop.” If an error is made, it is corrected transparently and immediately.

A Radical Safe Space

Rainbow Rocks was founded specifically to escape environments that were not for us. This platform is a Safe Space dedicated to the entire spectrum of the LGBTQIA+ community.

  • Inclusive Excellence: We recognize and celebrate all intersections, including race, gender identity, disability, and neurodiversity.

  • Zero Tolerance: There is no room here for transphobia, racism, ableism, or any form of gatekeeping.

  • Community First: This is more than a news site; it is a digital sanctuary where our lived experiences are validated and our rights are defended without compromise.

“Integrity isn’t just about the facts we report; it’s about the community we protect while reporting them.”
