COLUMBUS, Ohio — [Short North] A late-night physical dispute outside Luxe 23 in the Short North Arts District ended with one individual transported to the hospital early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 AM along the 1000 block of North High Street, directly in front of the Luxe 23 building, which houses Santos Restaurant & Bar and the Terrace Bar in Short North in Columbus, Ohio.
The victim was reported to be in stable condition following transport by emergency medical personnel.
On-Scene Account and Interview
According to eyewitness Victor Rojas, who spoke on-scene with Rainbow Rocks News Reporter Kyle Williams, the altercation began as a verbal argument between two pedestrians passing by The Luxe Building in Short North in Columbus, Ohio.
Kyle Williams (Rainbow Rocks): “Go ahead and tell me about what you saw.”
Victor Rojas: “Two patrons were walking by on the sidewalk. They got in an argument, one punched the other. He fell down, hit his… hit his head, passed out for a few seconds. And then paramedics came, and due to the fact that he passed out and lost consciousness, they told him we should take him to the hospital to get checked out, and he went to the hospital.”
Kyle Williams – RR – “Is this a normal occurrence outside The Luxe in Short North in Columbus, Ohio.
Victor Rojas: “No. This is… this is a residential high rise. These customers were not even part of The Luxe. They were walking by on a Saturday night on High Street in Short North in Columbus, Ohio. It Just happened to be by the front of the door.”
Kyle Williams – RR “What do you think about the crime rate going up in this section of Short North in Columbus, Ohio the last several months now?”
Victor Rojas: “That’s what happens in a busy city in Columbus, Ohio and a busy center with 80,000 college students down the street.”
