COLUMBUS, OH — In the shadows of the warehouse and the heat of the festival mainstage, a silent agreement exists: the dancefloor is where the masks come off. For the LGBTQIA+ community, house music is our history, born from the Black and Brown queer underground of Chicago as a radical response to a world that tried to dim our lights. Chicago native and outspoken ally John Summit honors this legacy with his sophomore album, “CTRL ESCAPE.”

Released on April 15, 2026 (Tax Day), the record is a masterclass in allyship through action. Summit doesn’t just play the music; he actively defends the culture it came from, reclaiming the dancefloor as a space where labels don’t apply. From the deep emotional release of “SHADES OF BLUE” to the industrial “middle finger to the binary” in “SATA,” the album serves as a sonic tribute to the sanctuary of the club.
